Born in 1954, I was the youngest of 3 girls. I grew up in Oak Park, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. I attended liberal arts colleges (yes, plural) in Minnesota and Wisconsin. I graduated in 1978 with an art education degree. After living in Michigan for 8 years I moved to California with my family in 1992. I am a mother of four and grandma to seven. I’ve been an art educator for 15 years.
My love affair with printmaking began in high school. It’s the textures that captivate me; draw me in. I love to touch the grooves made by the gouges. The connection between image and block bridges meaning. I am always curious about what the positive and negative of an image will reveal. Printmaking simply opens the way to adventure for me.
